Please note that kindergarten applicants should be five by

August 1 of the academic year in which they plan to start

school. As part of the admissions process, an educational

assessment conducted by a licensed educational

psychologist is required. Please refer to our preferred

list of CAIS psychologists to schedule your child’s

assessment. Additionally, please share the teacher

recommendation form with your child’s teacher and have

his or her teacher submit the completed form to The Oaks.

Students who have attended other schools should submit report cards, transcripts, standardized testing, and any previous academic or developmental testing. Additionally, all applicants should submit a copy of their birth certificate and current immunization records. These can be scanned and emailed, or copies can be sent with the application fee.

Parents of applicants should plan to visit and tour The Oaks as part of the admissions process.

Applicants will be required to visit and “shadow” students and/or classes in their current grade level. (Kindergarten applicant visits will be shorter in duration, or a group visit with several kindergarten applicants may be arranged.) These on-campus opportunities are a wonderful way for applicants to experience life at The Oaks.

After completing the steps in the admissions process, families will be contacted via a phone call and/or an email regarding the enrollment committee’s decision. Parents may request a follow-up meeting, if desired.

At The Oaks, we serve the typically-developing student, and it is our mission to serve every student with excellence. Currently, we are unable to meet the needs of many students who have specific, diagnosed learning differences. We understand that no two students are the same, and we would be glad to answer questions or field inquiries.  All students with a successful school history*, no record of behavioral issues, and strong academic ability will be given thoughtful consideration for admission to The Oaks.
